BP5 fails self-test

My BP5 terminal locked up as I was preparing to flash an SPI chip, and also seemed flaky shortly before that. After plugging it back in I tried a self test - these are the last few lines:

Tried updating the firmware, different cables, rebooting the PC - no dice. Any ideas?

FYI - It only reports 1.7V when I enabled Vout in SPI mode w/ the default 3.3v setting and nothing else connected. My multi-meter reads 2.5v between Vout and ground. I noticed a similar though less severe voltage sag earlier today using ‘flash write’, but now it seems to occur whenever I turn the power supply on.

Hi Byron,

Thanks for the bug report, I’m sorry this happened. I’ll message you and make sure we get a replacement sent out right away.

It looks like there may be a few failures. 1.7 is about half of 3.3volts, in which case I’d assume an op-amp failed in the adjustable power supply. But if the actual voltage measured doesn’t match what the Bus Pirate shows, then a second system (voltage monitoring) must also have an issue.

I’ll write now for details on how to get you a replacement.
