Help a new user out, I'm missing modes that are mentioned in the docs

I just bought a BP5, because it not only did IR, but 2wire, i2c and UART, but after getting it set up, and reading the docs, I am missing options in my version. when I connect, and toggle mode from hiZ, I don’t see 2wire, even though it’s listed in the docs, I also can’t figure out how to get the IR board to connect, I see no infrared or IR mode. Also, when reading the docs for I2C cards, it mentions the scan command, which is invalid on my version. I did follow the instructions and put it in DFU mode, and flashed today’s firmware into it, and that succeeded, but still no IR or 2wire mode. what am I doing wrong?

It sounds like you still have the manufacturing firmware.

When you put it into bootloader mode be sure the drive shows up as RPPI or similar. Otherwise you might just be copying the firmware to the internal storage.

Use $ command in terminal to jump to bootloader, or push and hold the button on the bottom and then plug in the USB cable.

Thanks for the reply, I was able to load a version from Dec 2024, and I now have the missing options, which tells me it uploaded, now to figure out why the latest build didn’t have them, or of it never uploaded. When I type $ at the hiZ prompt, it disconnects from the terminal, then reconnects and the drive opens in the file manager, I copy the file over, the BP5 reboots and I can reconnect, that seems to match the behavior on the docs. I’ll try again with the latest this evening, and report back what I find
Edit: I solved the issue, the first attempt at updating the newest FW must have failed, I tried again, and waited until it rebooted, and I’m on the latest build, with the missing options now present and working!
