I created an account (always used DirtyPCBs before today), added the plank prototype and a probe cable set (just because), entered shipping info, entered credit card information (I did not choose to “save with LINK”), and the review / confirmation page loaded.
However, the “submit order” button remains disabled. I even went back, entered the CC details a second time, and the same result.
Is this possibly because the prototype planks are out-of-stock, and an error message is just getting lost somewhere?
I’ll investigate further, but I know that if you’re logged in there are checkout issues.
I absolutely hate the medusajs 1.0 platform. They are on 2.0 now with no real upgrade path. I’ve invested way more in it than I expected, and I don’t want to go deeper.
@henrygab I’ll be happy to place the order for you, and you can send me the reimbursement afterward. If interested, PM me the shipping details.
Something I just noticed is that even though I have the email order confirmation and the credit card charge, if I am logged in, it does not show any orders for me.
I also tested logging in and ordering something, and I got to the place order button with no issues. I tested this with uBlock Origin enabled and disabled, with no difference.
Thank you for the kind offer. With the hint of not logging in, I was able to place the order.
@ian – I found additional issues that are concerning.
I went to the site, logged myself out, closed the tab, and tried again.
I first verified I was logged out, went to the cart, and went to the checkout.
The checkout loaded my shipping and billing address details … which I don’t think should happen when I explicitly chose to logout. I was still unable to complete the purchase flow, with the same problem of the button remaining disabled.
Opening the link in a new “InPrivate” Edge browser instance, and NEVER logging in, I was able to complete the purchase flow. I put some Pico 90-degree headers in that order to differentiate the successful order from the failing ones.
I was also shown zero tax. I’m not sure if that’s correct or if there’s any attempt to deal with recent tariff variability. But, thought I’d mention it in case it’s important for larger orders.
I ordered from the shop yesterday. I was logged in. I just looked and my order (order 65) shows up. PayPal shows it as a temporary auth, which matches the order’s payment status of “pending”.
I’m guessing it’ll go through when it ships. Just have to see what happens with tariffs
I’m sorry for all the trouble, and thank you for trying, feedback, etc. The store is a bigger mess than I realized, I will put things at DirtyPCBs instead. The benefit of the shop is supposed to be that EU customers can prepay VAT which saves a lot on duty assessment fees.
The US tariff situation is uncertain. UPS/FedEx/DHL require a 168% tariff prepayment. Several logistics companies are offering UPS/FedEx/DHL channels through Vietnam or Singapore, which is basically country of origin fraud. The “special lines” that go air freight and arrive by a local last mile carrier do not yet have tariff prepayment options. Please keep me updated on what happens with these US bound packages.
