PS2 male to PS2 male adapter (MINI-DIN 6P)
Instead of a PS/2 male-to-male cable, you can use a PS/2 male-to-male adapter, which is shorter and easier to work with.
I have only found it for sale at one place, but I find it really handy.
Since there was no stock of PS/2 female-to-female adapters, I made this one myself. I also left the pins exposed like this so I can easily hook it up to a logic analyzer.

This is why I love reading the posts here as there is always an idea that can be applied elsewhere. What may feel a simple picture can be a useful trigger. Gold star time, if you remember primary school.

My development board that does roughly the same thing as the Bus Pirate PLANK, but with additional features… Wi-Fi-enabled keylogger, etc.
planning to push the documentation of that to github later, too?

But @ian still hasn’t merged my PS2 & USB sniffer PR into main, and the documentation for the website hasn’t been generated either.

@ian Before you manufacture the final plank, could you give me the link to the version you’re going to manufacture so I can take a look at everything in KiCad?

Docs merged and updated. Split the PS/2 & USB Keyboard sniffer into two pages:
- Hardware plank overview
- Device demo/how to use
I’m not sure this is the best way to do it, but it is consistent with the existing docs.
I was hoping to do some testing and record snips and casts, but I can’t seem to find my plank anywhere. I have the keyboard and all adapter cables in a bag, but the plank ???
Another thing to consider - This adds two modes right? Some brief docs in the command reference would be consistent with the overall style. I guess people print the command reference (to PDF) so they can have a quick offline reference.
Don’t worry, I can do the snips+casts myself. Right now I’m doing tests on everything I’m working on in parallel, to leave the code as good as possible and well tested.
True! I’d overlooked that, as soon as I get a moment I’ll sort it out.

seems like electronic parts know how to despawn sneakily…
Had a 512MB SD-card despawn recentlsy, too in a unexplainable way. fell down from my desk and then it was gone
